The plug on the AC adapter of my laptop is getting REALLY hot when I pull it out . . .?

By plug, I mean the silver, cylindrical piece on the end of the AC adapter that actually sticks into the computer. The last fw times I’ve pulled it out, I noticed that the silver part is VERY hot (enough to make your hand recoil right away).

Also, my computer seems to take longer for the battery to charge. It used to charge in 2-3 hours, and it’s been at least 50% longer recently.

What do you think the issue is?

It’s an Acer 5102 with a Turion chip that I got a year ago, if that helps at all.

I have tried re-installing windows home edition and pro but it still doesnt work. I dont want to take it to the shops. there must be a solution that i can do. can any1 help me?? Thank u in advance

Notebook Advice: Acer Aspire 3004WLCi, can this machine run VS2003, Eclipse, Netbeeans with Java?

I wanted to buy this notebook and im not sure whether i can run Microsoft Visual Studio 2003, Eclipse or NetBeans java editors and Macromedia Studio package without taking so much time to process. Some machines get stuck if the processes are so high and heavy. I wanted to know whether this machine could work smoothly. which of the mini notebooks is the best?

dell inspiron mini 9 looks awesome unfortunately it has low memory
lenovo ideapad s10 has great memory but was said to have a short battery life
hp mininote 2133 is said to have lots of problems but it really does look good
asus eee and asus eee 1000h were okay i guess
acer aspire one short battery life as well

which should i choose? i need a mininote that has long battery life and okay memory…

could you help me out by pointing out more of the pros and cons of each? (esp. between dell inspiron and lenovo s10) thanks!! :D

What parts can make a Laptop faster?

I own two laptops, a regular sized DELL Laptop XPS, and a Mini Acer Aspire Notebook PC. I have de-assembled my DELL laptop completely to fix it, and learn about it. It is now working in good condition. However my mini acer aspire laptop isn’t really as fast as the DELL Laptop. I know these
types of PC’s were not meant for speed, but I wonder if I can make it speed up like the DELL, or maybe take some parts off the dell and put in the acer. I know it’s not the ram, and hardrive. Is it the
intel core processor? I may not know all of it, but I am still learning. My mini acer aspire has an “intel Atom”, 250 Hardrive GB, 2.0 MB of Ram. I like it also because it was first started with Windows 7 Starter, so I upgraded it to Professional… Anyways, is it possible to make these PC’s run faster and more capable of playing games better. Please don’t tell me to clean it, cleaning it would not solve
it, I clean it with disk clean up and defragment. I want to hear an answer from a more
wiser and intelligent person who knows about PC parts.
I made a mistake when spelling my Ram, I said 2.0 MB LOL I meant “2.0 GB of RAM.”

I heard it’s possible to play L4D on a netbook but just not sure which one more specifically. Anyone knows which netbook could handle L4D? If not I could always replace the graphic card…

I have a Verizon Voyager cell phone that has internet access already installed. Is there a laptop/notebook that I can connect to my phone? Will it allow me to use the internet service I already have? I can’t see paying $30+ per month when I have internet service with my cell phone.

Looking to buy a laptop online that i can customize. What are your thoughts on the latest specs and best brand?

Qsts –
1. Where can i buy online reliably (i guess straight from the manufacturer) that will ship to Dubai? Even if it doesn’t ship to dubai, i can ship to a friend in the states and they can send it here but it should have intl. warranty.

2. There should be international warranty.

3. What’s the difference between intel centrino 2, and intel core duo? or are they the same?

Acer Crystal Eye on my laptop…?

Okay, I have the Acer Crystal Eye on my Aspire 5532, but I can’t get it to work. I tried downloading the drivers from the Acer website, but that didn’t work. I tried contacting Acer, but that didn’t work either. I don’t have the manual because this laptop was a gift, and I never received any manual. I have Acer Arcade Deluxe, but it doesn’t have the DV Wizard. I’ve tried searching for the appropriate drivers and nothing worked. I’m not sure what to do…The intervu link that someone already sent me twice doesn’t work. And it’s not a camera you plug in, it’s actually part of the laptop. >:P
