Well. Nowdays the xp version comes with a 160gb hdd and the price has dropped to 310euros.For me it’s better to get the linux ones and replace them with xp.The laptop runs very nice and with the 40euros u got from not buying the xp ones u can buy a 120gb usb hdd if u have a lot of file to save. But if you care only if it worths with xp the answer is of course YES

just put xp on the cheaper model.1. take a usb stick2. WinSetupFromUSB 0.1.13. make the bootable xp install on a stick with your official Windows install cd4. boot your netbook from usb three times (press f12 for the boot device list at startup with your stick plugged in just in case :) ) to complete the xp installation. don’t worry: you WILL have to boot 3 times cause the installation can’t boot from usb itself after the 3 parts of the xp setup. GOT IT ?

Well mine is only a 512mb model and have been using it a while now and not once have i felt the need to add extra ram to speed up the system or to run a application. The linux that comes with it is very low requirements and I dont feel like it needs extra ram so I would suggest getting the cheaper 512mb unless you plan to use it one really heaver programs, games or apps in which case I think you got the wrong kind of laptop in mind all together.
