Hmmm, Lenovos are no longer IBM, they are Chinese. Well since they stopped supporting Linux, and vehemently are opposed to supporting linux.. I think I’ll stick with Acer.. BTW, this laptop is a lower power machine.. It consumes 30 watts of power at most.. How much power does your lenovo consume? Also the webcam is 640×480, and works quite well with skype. Although I have a QuickCam Pro 9000 which is a poor mans HD camera. And it works with Linux and Windows. I use it on my Thinkpad T30.

Yeah.. The TP600X is for work, it has bunches of stuff that I use for doing web work.. It’s Windows 2000 but I spent years getting it tuned to do work, but I use my T30 for pretty much everything, even work.. Just that all my past web work is on the 600X. The Acer Aspire, is for when I need windows XP for something. I should try to get Ubuntu Studio running on it, it’s a lot of fun. Ubuntu Studio can be installed from Ubuntu. I used to use it for webcam stuff but I just got a Quickcam 9000.

I have no problem typing on an aspire one netbook. I was taught how to type in high school on a type writer back in the 80’s but yes, it helps to ‘hover’ your ands on top of thte keyboard instead of keeping your finger on the ‘home keys’. I’m typing on my aspire one right now :)

I also love trackpoints. I also saw CPU magazine in the background :)

I gave touchpads a chance, I don’t know if touch screens will be better.I like CPU magazine, but I recently found an article from the CEO of “wild tangent” writing for them.. What? Argh, aren’t they the guys notorious for making spyware for Windows? I think Wild Tangent should get rebranded if they are trying to run from that past, because I would. I got CPU originally because it covered stuff I couldn’t easily find information about on the net. Somewhere there I have a tiger direct too.
