I wanted to buy this notebook and im not sure whether i can run Microsoft Visual Studio 2003, Eclipse or NetBeans java editors and Macromedia Studio package without taking so much time to process. Some machines get stuck if the processes are so high and heavy. I wanted to know whether this machine could work smoothly. acer aspire one wont change desktop backround?
i just bought a new acer aspire one and i made a wallpaper to put on my desktop and whenever i chose to make it my backround the backround never changes its just stays at the default wallpaper i am not too good at computers so help would be very kind

Has anyone fixed…fixed a power switch issue with an Acer Aspire Laptop?
It’s frightening to see how many people have had problems with their Acer Aspire Laptops suddenly not powering on. Personally, I tried a new battery and a new power cord and that did not solve the problem. I can see that power is getting into my laptop…but it won’t power on. Apparently a lot of people are having or had this problem with their Acer laptops. But what I want to know is has anyone gone the distance and had this issue fixed? If so, what did it turn out to be and how much did it cost? Has anyone gotten any relief from Acer? My laptop is no longer under warranty but it is obvious that Acer put out a series of products that were faulty in this respect.
Also, in doing my research I found out that Acer Laptop users were vulernable to additional security risk through the ActiveX program. That explains the trojans and viruses that on multiple occassions I had to get cleaned out of my computer. I am wondering if there may be a connection.
In any case, I need to decide whether its worth getting this fixed or whether I should just sell my system for parts and start with a new laptop.

New acer aspire gemstone blue & Sony Vaio CR35G…which one should I choose? Acer worth my trust for once?
I’ve heard Acer’s products are not trustworthy, they break down frequently, but considering both laptop specs, the new acer aspire gemstone blue 6920G got blue ray disc, nvidia GeForce 9500, the two main things for entertainment and fingerprint for extra security. Sony Vaio CR35G’s just got DVD drive and ATI Mobility Radeon X2300, NO fingerprint…both price’s same, but expensive, so I need to make wise decision. My main concern is whether to trust Acer products (I know Vaio’s highly rated notebook)…I’ll appreciate all your comments…Thanks!

What adapter do I need for and ACER Aspire 300 series laptop?
It’s a bit confusing as there are a number availble. My laptop belong to the aspire 3000 series, however written on the back of the laptop is 3002LC series… I’m a bit thrown by the ‘LC’ as when looking for parts the series distinguishes between 3000 and 3000LC, plus there are many more combinations?
Thanks for any help. My adapter has broken (yet again) and rather than send it into a shop where all they will do is send off the part, I would rather avoid the extra fee charged for ‘looking at the computer’.
