Comparing HP and ASUS notebooks, which one is more durable and reliable?

Specifically speaking, HP HDX16t and the ASUS G71Gx.
I’m looking in terms of how long it would last mostly. Assuming I’m not doing anything stupid with it like dropping it or smashing on keyboards or hardware.
Assume its just going to sit on a desk and be used like an average notebook.
What is the best hp laptop for gamers? im looking for one that is durable and affordable?

I bought a dv5 1116 em and it had to go to the service centre 5 times in 4 months!- (they replaced the motherboard twice!). Please advice me on a laptop that i can play games on (im not looking for a really advanced gaming pc-just a moderate one), but my priority would be durability and lesser system failures!!- it has to be a hp because im exchanging it with a store.
is Acer a good brand for laptops are they durable for long time uses?

I need a light but durable laptop for taking notes in class and for my business needs (just needs decent processing speed.) I’d like to stay under $1500. Like I said…it needs to be durable because I will be taking alot of places, and it needs to be very portable because I will be taking it everywhere.
I like a relible brand like IBM, Acer, ect. I’ve had HP and Gateway in the past, and they are not good for business use.
