Is there any point in buying a pre-built Acer computer and adding a 9800 GTX graphics card?

Is there any point in buying a pre-built Acer computer and adding a 9800 GTX graphics card, or will the motherboard slow down the card?

Would it be better to make a computer myself, with a better motherboard, but a lesser card? or is the Acer fine?

recently i purchase a acer travelmate 4730 notebook

specification:
centrino core 2 duo processor 2.0 GHz, 800 MHz FSB,2 MB L2 Cache
1 GB DDR2 SDRAM
160 GB Harddisk
mobile intel 4 series Express chipset family, GMA 4500 MHD

my notebook shows 286Mb of graphics memory, i want to increase graphics memory of my notebook, is it possible and how much it can be increase and how ??? i asked the aser customercare people but said that they dont know actually.

i install windows vista business OS in my notebook and it is not performing well so, if any one know my question,s answer plz let me know i m desperately waiting for the answer
i dont want change the graphic card i mean to increase the graphic memory up to how much memory this mobile intel 4 series express chipset go, all chipsets have their limit to increase the graphics memory by increasing RAM

Looking for the highest spec laptop that has the most advanced graphics/media/video cards etc specs. I have an HP Pavillion 2500 dual core – but want to have a dedicated separate laptop that I can use specifically for photos / editing / graphics/media/movies etc.I’ve been told that Acer have a couple – but would you reccomend Acer over HP ?? XP over Vista ?????
