I’m looking in particular at what are the best graphics cards for notebooks and I find it a bit confusing when ATI cards are marketed as 512MB Hyper Memory and I don’t know how that compares to an NVidia 256MB regular notebook graphics card in terms of performance.

Comparison between NVIDIA Geforce 9300GS with max.1023MB & Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD and…?
I’m going to get a laptop for school, but I would like to have games such as ‘Call Of Duty’ in my laptop. I have 3 choices:
1) Fujitsu L1010NP with NVIDIA Geforce 9300GS with max 1023MB
2) Lenovo Thinkpad T400 with Interl Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
3) Acer with NVIDIA Geforce G 105M with up to 2303MB of TurboCache
should i try to avoid getting Acer for my laptop, many people say it’s better not to get an Acer laptop.
I need to upgrade my graphics card drivers for my Acer 5100 with Vista and have no clue what to do.?
I bought the Acer 5100 last year and haven’t upgraded anything. I’ve been trying to run Second Life but keep getting errors that my graphics card drivers needs to updated. I have no clue where to go or what to do to.
Any help would be so appreciated!
Why isn’t my graphics card performing well?
I just spent about 1800$ on a new computer. Here are the important specs:
Intel Core i7 2.66Ghz
12GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600
ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2
Acer 22in wide 1080p LCD (1920 x 1080)
Despite all of this, I can still only get like 35 fps on Very High settings on Crysis Warhead. If i set it to max, which I SHOULD be able to without any problems, my fps drops to about 12. My drivers are fully updated too. Maybe i’m missing something, but I keep reading reviews on it and seeing how people can get 100+ fps on Crysis Warhead with the same card. Any help please guys? Thanks

Dual-monitor support with Asus AX300 graphics card?
I’ve got an Asus Extreme AX300 graphics card (http://reviews.cnet.com/graphics-cards/asus-extreme-ax300se-td/4507-8902_7-31302971.html?tag=mncolBtm;rnav) installed in my computer. I’ve been trying to set up a dual-monitor system with two analog monitors (Acer AL190 and Acer AL1916); the graphics card has two ports in the back, a VGA and a DVI-D port. Both monitors are in perfect working condition; the monitor connected to the VGA port works fine, but the one that’s connected to the DVI-D port (via a VGA-DVI adaptor) isn’t. The computer’s picking up that there are two monitors there, and acting as though I have dual monitors, but the secondary monitor (via the DVI) is showing ‘no signal’.
I’m still pretty new to sorting out this kind of thing, but I’m pretty sure that the AX300 card has dual-monitor support. What I’m not sure about is the DVI-D port- does this mean that it will only work with a digital monitor, in which case should I be looking to buy a new monitor (would rather avoid this, as I bought the monitor recently without knowing all of this and don’t want to waste that money), or should I rather invest in a more updated graphics card with dual-monitor support that will take two analogue monitors? I’ve been looking at the Inno3D 9400GT and 9800GT, but am still confused about the DVI ports on those and which ports I need to support an analogue monitor.
Long question short- can I support two analogue monitors with an AX300 card, and if not, what type of card should I be looking for so I can avoid having to buy a new monitor?
Thanks!
The resolution of the second monitor is definitely at a resolution that it can cope with- it’s the same monitor as my primary one, and the resolutions are both the same.
Also, I had a second look at the specs on the cnet site and it does say dual-link- however, now I’m a little confused, because looking down the back of my tower it’s definitely a DVI-D port, but the AX300 is definitely the card I have in there! Now that I’ve completely confused myself, I have a little extra money to spend on a new graphics card anyway, so any help on what I should be looking at? I reckon that might be simpler than playing around with settings and cables like I have been for the past month!
Hey can someone help me find out which graphics card I need?
Hey there I was looking for a way to get a better video card so I could have a faster FPS rate when playing Gamecube Emulators, I found out that my computer has an “PCI Express Graphics Card” and It can fit a “Half height card” I was wondering if someone could show me where I could find something like that like on newegg for example.
The video where the person talked about this can be seen here:
http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/acer-aspire-ax3200-u3600a/4505-3118_7-33345347.html
(The video, also this is my computer)
Also my current video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 8200. Think if I expand that with the second half chip new video card or whatever, it would make me be able to play gamecube emulators without lag issues?
Thanks Erenox for your help, Just to be sure are you positive it would fit with my video card slot?
it is right here http://i29.tinypic.com/16hkuux.jpg
thats what the slot looks like
