I was playing with my friend, and broke the laptop screen of my Acer Window 7 laptop. I want to know how much it cost to replace the screen. And I live in NYC, do you guys know anywhere that will replace my laptop screen for a cheap price?

I found a great deal on a replacement lcd for a notebook. The size is right but the resolution is 1024X768 and my broken screen had a resolution of 1200X800. It the same brand though. Does anyone know if it will work.

My son was just given an Acer Extensa 390C laptop that was in storage for awhile and displays a “CMOS battery bad” error when booting and the computer does not keep time. I downloaded the service manual but it gives no instruction about how to replace the CMOS battery. It’s not a clip-type and I need to know how to change the battery.
If i replace my present mainboard will i need to buy a new OS?

I have an OEM computer from acer with windows vista and in order to get a new decent processor i will need to replace the mainboard. ive heard somewhere in OEM computers the OS is linked to the motherboard but maybe its the harddisk??? will i therefore new to buy a new OS (eg XP) as well as mainboard?

my laptop (toshiba, satellite 1405) is getting old and the real time clock battery is no longer rechargeable. so everytime I turn on the computer, the system clock is always changed back to 1999. I was wondering if I can change the battery myself, or do I have to take it to a computer store (and how much would that cost)? I heard that the RTC battery is a small button-like battery and is really cheap, but I didn’t see it when I opened the back of the laptop. Any idea? thanks a lot for your help.

I have a TravelMate 290 series with a Centrino processor. The current drive is a Toshiba MK4021GAS drive with is listed as being ATA 2/3/4/5 interface. Can I replace it with a SATA interface drive instead? Also, could someone explain what the difference would be in a laptop / notebook between the two drives? Thanks.

I have a Acer Aspire X1200 Desktop computer and I need to replace the hard drive. I got the left side open, but it looks like the hard drive is behind the disc drive and I don’t see a way to get it out. Can you open the other side of it, or am I not seeing something?

Can best buy replace my acer laptop?

I have an acer laptop is an extended warranty. I baught it from best buy and put on it a 2 year acer extented warranty. The screen still is glitching up and will be the 4th time sending the laptop in. Can I take it to best buy and get it replaced with a new one? or would I have to send it to acer? Can they give me a new one?
If I buy a laptop from Office Depot in Mexico that has a Spanish OS, can I replace OS with an English version?

The laptop model is Acer Aspire 8930. I have a brochure in my possession, but I’m not sure if the OS is in English or Spanish. The Name of the OS on the bochure is in English: “Windows Visita Home Premium”. The description of the specs are in Spanish.
I’m visiting Mexico this Saturday to check it out.
