I’m wanting to purchase a lcd monitor, but one of the reviews someone stated that the monitor wasnt compatible with windows xp?I was told that the only thing you should be aware of is whether the connection was analog or dvi?If its analog then you shouldn’t have any problems hooking a lcd monitor to an older computer? So my question is, does the lcd monitors work with any windows, like windows xp? or is it just the connection port you should be aware of?

Hello, i’m using Acer TravelMate 4150 with Windows XP Home. LIke my question above, when i run in battery mode only, after i key in my password, what i see is a never-ending login dialog… sometimes i’ve wait until 10 minuites and still nothing happens..
this won’t happen when i plugged in the plug to the power supply. Everything is working fine when in that mode.
Anyone with solutions?

I’ve just bought a laptop off eBay (Acer Travelmate 800) that doesn’t have an existing operating system or CD-ROM drive installed (only a DVD-drive). I’ve got the Windows XP CD but I was just wondering how I could use that for installation?
Thanks in advance…

When I bought my Acer Ferrari 3000 laptop computer, it had a Windows XP Home Edition. It had volume control, audio device, and was able to stand by after clicking on “Turn Off Computer”. After I installed the Windows XP Professional Edition, it lost its volume control and audio device and can’t stand by after clicking on “Turn Off Computer”. I’ve been using other people’s advice but they say the same thing and it doesn’t work on my computer. I click on “Control Panel”, then “Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices”, and then “Sounds and Audio Devices” and it says “No Audio Device” in the Volume bar. Also, in the Hardware bar, when I click on “Audio Codecs”, “Legacy Audio Drivers”, “Media Control Devices”, “Legacy Video Capture Devices”, and “Video Codecs”, it says “This device is working properly.” I even updated my drivers and it still doesn’t do anything. I’m wondering if anyone can help me with this problem. Also, can anyone help me make my computer stand by?
