I recently reinstalled Windows XP Home OEM on a Acer notebook. After the re installation the computer keeps freezing in normal mode. In safe mode no problems. I tried to repair the installation but now I am getting a fatal error redundancy check? I think there might be hardware problem with this pc but not sure. Anyone that can help I would appreciate it.

How to set the desktop background on my Windows 7 Acer Aspire One?

There’s no option on my right click to set a background. There’s no option on the entire computer that I can see. Windows Help (lolwut?) told me to go to control panel and search desktop background, but such an option does not exist according to the search. Also, whenever I click an image and tell it to be set as background, nothing happens.
This ugly blue background is killing me. Help?
How do I connect a laptop using Vista to print through a computer using Windows XP?

The laptop is wireless. I have installed the printer on the laptop which clearly shows it. I leave the main computer on then press print on the laptop. It comes up with an error message. The laptop uses Vista, the main computer uses XP. I don’t want to use wires and the printer can’t be connected to the router via an ethernet cable. Is there a way to do what I am trying to do or do Vista and XP clash?
I’m using Windows Vista on an Acer laptop. I’m having problems w/popup that says file associations not found.

Today’s message deals with the Yahoo toolbar. I just reformatted the laptop two days ago because there were very few programs that would open. It was giving me the same message but then it wasn’t for the Yahoo toolbar.

I bought a Acer Aspire One with NO DVD/CD-ROM. It’s have only USB hubs and SD-Micro M2(1 place). I tryied to put windows on these memory stick for boot but it’s not worked. It’s have Windows XP Home Edition Inbuild system. but I don’t have any windows right now. Please help me fast. Thanks
Windows Programs Not Working?

All of the Windows programs in my computer aren’t working (Paint, Word Pad, Notepad, Calculator, etc), every time I try to open it, I get an error message stating “Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.” The error is C:\Program Files\Windows NT\Accessories\(program name).exe, and I’m a bit stumped. All of the programs were working a few hours ago, so I’m not too sure how it happened.
I’m currently running Vista on an Acer laptop, if that helps at all.
Any help would be appreciated

I purchased my Lenovo laptop in August & it is beginning to run slow already 
Is there something I can do to make my computer run faster? I know I can close processes using the task manager and use the disk clean up. Is there a way to permanently make it run faster? I also do not want to go out & purchase anything, I am stuck with what I’ve got

Hi on the 05/10/2009 (DD/MM/YYYY) i bought a laptop ACER aspire 5536 from pc world in london, and i red an offer that says “buy a qualifying PC running windows vista home premium, business or ultimate from 26 june 2009 to 31st jan 2010 and get an upgrade to windows 7 from 23rd october 2009.” does this mean that i will get the upgrade for free or what please i really need help. thanks .

As both the Service Packs are out now can some one tell me which one is better and why?. Actually i have a old Laptop Acer 4060 with Intel Centrino 1.7GHz, 1GB Ram and currently using windows xp sp2 and scare of the security holes init. I want to upgrade my OS with Windows XP SP3 or may be buy Windows Vista SP1. But, i still in a rush of which one should i select that could help in business productivity, faster in use and definately fast in surfing web. I don’t have any special software that i think i need after the upgrade. So, the compability is not a issue for me.
I tried the Windows Vista without Service pack on my system and found it liitle slow then XP SP2. As the new SP for windows vista is out now and i don’t tried it yet and belief that may be M$ improved it’s performace little bit. Do any one tried it practically?
I also run the windows upgrade advisor and it meet all the hardware requirements except Aero for which i don’t really care about. The main thing for me is the Performace. I may upgrade my ram up to 2 GB. But, do the Vista SP1 boost the performace?

i am running adobe premiere elements 4 on windows vista home premium. I am using this on my new Acer laptop. These are the specs: intel core 2 duo processor T5550 (1.83 GHz),NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS graphics system, 2 gb of RAM, 250 gb hdd (with more then half free memory) and blu-ray player. i can play some clips in media player but they cause premiere elements to crash. PLEASE HELP!
